DREAMERS CHALLENGE MARCH 29TH "BUNNIES"

In recognition of Easter, this week's Theme is 

"BUNNIES"

Bunnies are cute and fluffy with their twitching noses and long ears.

Some people have them as pets but they can be a nuisance if they get in your garden!

Remember Brier Rabbit? He was a naughty bunny.

Nonetheless, they have made a name for themselves at Easter Time.

The Easter Bunny (also called the Easter Rabbit or Easter Hare) is a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter Eggs. Originating among German  Lutherns, the "Easter Hare" originally played the role of a judge, evaluating whether children were good or disobedient in behavior at the start of the season of Eastertide. The Easter Bunny is sometimes depicted with clothes. In legend, the creature carries colored eggs in his basket, candy, and sometimes also toys to the homes of children, and as such shows similarities to Santa Claus or the Christkind, as they both bring gifts to children on the night before their respective holidays. The custom was first mentioned in Georg Franck von Franckenau's De ovis paschalibus (About Easter Eggs) in 1682 referring to a German tradition of an Easter Hare bringing Easter eggs for the children.

DEAMERS CHALLENGE MARCH 15 "PUPPY"

This Week's Theme is 

"Puppy"

One of the sweetest things in this world is a puppy.

They are so innocent just like a baby. Soft and cuddly and dependent on you for their care.

So many puppies get abandoned or abused and it breaks my heart especially when they bring so much happiness if you let them. They become part of the family and grow deep in your heart. They are loyal pets and such great companions to many. 

In my case, I have raised two puppies that were abandoned. We found them under a trailer near our barn just before we moved from California to Oregon. All of our children live in California and the move left a big empty space without them. Two little puppies, Sammy and Petey came with us to Oregon 9 years ago and they have filled that empty space and brought us comfort. Not all people like dogs or puppies but I don't think many can deny that they are cute.

I have created this for your inspiration. I am looking forward to your artwork.

I have always been fascinated with teapots and pitchers. I have quite a collection. Although I don't drink tea, I still love the shape of a teapot.

The word Chubby to me is "CUTE"

Chubby babies are my favorite, chubby cheeks, chubby kittens, chubby puppies, chubby cupids and angels. They are all adorable.

This theme can bring to mind many things gone by.

So many things come to mind for me from my younger days.

The following was inspired by the memory of the old rotary phone and my first transistor radio. 

My Mother gave it to me on Christmas Eve and I fell asleep listening to it. I woke up with a dead battery! Lesson learned.

DIGITAL DREAMERS JAN 11th CHALLENGE, "SEA LIFE"

This weeks challenge is 

"Sea Life"

There are so many beautiful creatures under the sea and they are all amazing.

A few weeks ago I watched a documentary on the Discovery challenge about some scientists that had been following a story about a creature that had washed up on shore along with some whales and other sea life with no explanation of why.

 One of the creatures they studied is thought to be a "Mermaid". 

Though the mermaid didn't look like the mermaids we have come to visualize, it inspired this challenge.

 The Navy covered this story up and destroyed all the evidence the scientists had gathered accept for the recordings of the sounds they heard and one quick glimpse of the creature.

So that in mind, I had to add a Mermaid to my Sea Life artwork.

DREAMERS CHALLENGE JAN 4th "AMERICAN INDIAN"

This weeks challenge is

"American Indian"

I have always been fascinated with the American Indian.

The head dress and painted faces and their native clothing and moccasins.
The way they made their bows and arrows and painted their ponies for war.

The dance and chanting they do and how they get their names.

Their last name comes from what the Mother saw or heard just as the baby was born.

Such as, A Sitting Bull.

 Another year is about to end and a brand new one is only three days away.

Mine is to get back to Zumba Fitness and lose the weight I have gained since the class here in Coos Bay was cancelled. I bought the Zumba Fitness DVD and will do it here at home.

DREAMERS CHALLENGE DEC 21, 2014 "SANTA"

Since Christmas is in 24 days and "Santa" will be here in 23 days I have chosen

 "Santa" as the theme for this week's challenge.

Here is my contribution to inspire you. I have used an image of Santa from the internet and manipulated it with the face of my oldest Granddaughter. Used some texture overlays and Photoshop brushes to finish the piece. Let your creative juices flow! Happy Creating and Merry Christmas!

Dark Challenge " Gypsy Soul "

I have had the pleasure of meeting some gypsy's where we are in Rodeo, NM  at a campground where we have been staying. They and the Caravan have stopped to rest a few days. Their horses are beautiful as are the people.

Anyway hence the challenge title 

 " Gypsy Soul"

I know the gypsy life as been a constant interest to me so please let your imaginations go, let your muse flow

It doesn't have to be a dark piece, Remember its what you feel and think about when you see the challenge.

This will be my last challenge till the beginning of the year

Today is the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor

 and in remembrance of that day the weeks challenge is "WWII Poster"

Dark Whispers Challenge for Dec " I can't see"

Can you imagine the "Panic" when you cant see anything in front of you, behind you, or can't see at all.

Or a lost loved one that used to be so vivid in your mind is now getting faint.

DREAMERS CHALLENGE NOVEMBER 23, COWBOY BOOTS

This weeks challenge is "Cowboy Boots"

A bit unusual for a challenge? Yes, but when I saw this copyright free image from Ryan Mcquire, I just had to use it and since it is copyright free you can use it too.

Cowboy Boots come in all different styles and colors. Here are some things to spark your imagination.

They can be fancy for the parade, rugged for the rodeo with spurs or the ranch hand who is wrestling cattle. Girls wear them as well as children. They can dress up the prettiest western outfit for a barn dance or kick the tires of that old tractor.

This is what I did with the image of cowboy boots.
I used two backgrounds from Gratisography. Two vintage images of pin up girls and of course the image of cowboy boots from Ryan McGuire. Filters and Photoshop brushes finished this piece.

Dark Challenge for November 17th " Stranded "

Hello from Carole Anne here

The Dark challenge for November 17th until the end of the month..is going to be 

" Stranded "

Yikes   ever been there..? 

 Stranded at a bus stop ,the people who were to pick you up had the wrong day....

Stranded out in the Countryside in the dark with a flat tire and your cell phone doesn't work.

With this challenge you will be able to express your fear of being stranded, Tell your story or imagine being in that position

Above all have fun....let the muse flow.

You can of course anytime add more than one piece...and our challenges are being kept open for a longer time frame so go back and challenge your self again to previous challenges that have been extended.

And  the next challenge for to prepare for in December, is going to be 

" I can't see"
