DREAMERS CHALLENGE AUG 31, BALLERINA

"This weeks theme is

 "Ballerina" 

 Like so many little girls, I wanted to be a ballerina and I took ballet lessons. It was amazing to me that you could actually stand on your toes with those ballerina shoes on. Of course there were lots of things to learn before you got those ballerina slippers. One of my little friends actually went on to the Julliard School of dance became a ballerina.

DREAMERS CHALLENGE AUG 24th, CLOWN

Personally, I like clowns, but many people don't. My middle son included.

I had a picture of  a clown hanging on the wall of  his bedroom when he was little and

he did NOT like it. It scared him which is understandable for a child. 

I took the picture down as soon as he told me it scared him.

DREAMERS CHALLENGE AUG 3RD, COUNTY FAIR

 This weeks theme is

"County Fair"

In summer The Fair is a fun activity to look forward to.

Usually in July or August counties all over the USA have a Fair.

Exciting rides, pie contests, games, and lots of food from candy cotton to hot dogs and of course there are farm animals entered for judging, usual by young people, where the winner will receive a Red, White or Blue ribbon. Then there is the rodeo and at dark, fireworks. It is a fun time for everyone.

DREAMERS CHALLENGE JULY 27TH, HOT SUMMER DAYS

This weeks theme is

"Hot Summer Days" 

 

A great thing to do when the temperatures sore,

is to play in the sprinkler, go swimming in a pool, a lake or

an irrigation ditch, in my case as a child, or just turn on the hose

and get yourself all wet. It will cool you down and it is fun (when you are a child anyway)

MY DOLLY

DREAMERS CHALLENGE JULY 6th, TANGO

This weeks theme is

"Tango"

In my younger days I was a dancer.

My partner and I won 1st place in Swing, Hustle and Tango 

at the Victor Drew Dance Tournament in the

MGM Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I love to dance and won many trophies in different Disco's.

Yes, disco was what attracted me to take lessons and get out there and

boogie. The best time ever. We learned to do the New York Hustle, Swing and Ballroom which includes Tango and is my favorite ballroom dance.

The discos were lit up with dancers from all over the area. 

Our favorite nightclub was Paul Anka's Jubilation which is where I first saw people doing all of these disco moves and the dance floor glittered from the Disco Ball hanging above.

The music was contagious, the fashion was so much fun and it was a blast to dance to all hours of the night.

"Picnic"

A fun thing to do with couples or family.

When my children were small we went on picnics a lot during the summer months. 

I fell in love with my husband on a picnic.

He brought a blanket, grapes, cheese and crackers, sparkling soda

and a portable radio/ tape player which just happened

 to have our favorite song playing. 

He is such a romantic.

Growing up on a farm I got to see lots of cowboys.

Herding cattle, hauling hay from the hay fields, putting up fence posts and

they would come into my Aunts house at meal time

for a meal after a hard days work.  

Lots of good memories from my childhood on the farm
