DREAMERS CHALLENGE NOV 15TH SHOES

This weeks theme is 

"Shoes"

Isn't it amazing how many shoes we have in our closet.

Hey, I'm guilty!

I accumulated many different styles over the years that I worked.

Thongs, sandals of at least three colors, dress flats, high heels and higher heels, swede low cut boots and knee high leather boots. After I retired I have sort of downsized my collection.

I now have sandals of two colors, two pairs of fitness shoes, low cut boots, knee high boots and my all time favorite, tennis shoes. BUT my favorite is NO SHOES. I have always kicked them off as soon as I come in the house.

This is my inspiration for this challenge.

DREAMERS CHALLENGE OCT 4TH GAS PUMP

This week's theme is 

"Gas Pump"

Vintage gas pumps intrigue me. They are rusty and have actual numbers on little squares that drop down as your tanks is filled. Unlike the digital numbers on the gas pumps today.

Conoco, Texaco, American, Mobile, Chevron, Sinclair, Shell, Blue Sunco, Gulf, Gilmore, Richfield to name a few. They are all amazing relics of the past.

DREAMERS CHALLENGE AUGUST 23RD, RAILROAD TRACKS

This weeks theme is 

"Railroad Tracks"

When I was growing up I lived very near a train station and there were numerous tracks crisscrossing where the trains would change directions.

I always had a fear of them because I thought the tracks were electric and would shock me !

I had to cross these tracks on the way to school and I would NOT step on them but step between them. To this day I have problems walking across the train tracks.

For information on trains here is what Wikipedi has to say.

A locomotive or engine is a rail transport vehicle that provides the motive power for a train. The word originates from the Latin loco – "from a place", ablative of locus, "place" + Medieval Latin motivus, "causing motion", and is a shortened form of the term locomotive engine,^[1] first used in the early 19th century to distinguish between mobile and stationary steam engines.
A locomotive has no payload capacity of its own, and its sole purpose is to move the train along the tracks.^[2] In contrast, some trains have self-propelled payload-carrying vehicles. These are not normally considered locomotives, and may be referred to as multiple units, motor coaches or railcars. The use of these self-propelled vehicles is increasingly common for passenger trains, but rare for freight (see CargoSprinter). Vehicles which provide motive power to haul an unpowered train, but are not generally considered locomotives because they have payload space or are rarely detached from their trains, are known as power cars.
Traditionally, locomotives pull trains from the front. Increasingly common outside North America is push-pull operation, where one locomotive pulls the train from the front and another locomotive pushes it from behind. In this arrangement the locomotive at the rear of the train is controlled from a control cab at the front of the train. Push-pull operation is generally infeasible in North America as, even if mid-train or tail-end "helpers" are provided, the front-end might have over 26,000 horsepower (19,000 kW), net for traction, whereas the mid-train and/or tail-end "helpers" might have only 9,000

I remember hanging out the laundry on a clothes line with clothes pins when my kids were small.

 We lived in Colorado when my middle Son was born and I hung his diapers on the clothes line.

I was so young and  naive then and didn't  realize that in freezing weather the diapers would freeze!

When I was a child I loved the last day of school because I knew summer was here.

My Mother always put our summer clothes away in a cedar chest in the fall and in summer she would get them out to see if they still fit.

I have seen some really creative work using watercolors. I don't usually use this technique because I don't have a program or experience but I love the look of watercolors.

DREAMERS CHALLENGE JUNE 7TH, FRECKLES

This weeks challenge is

"Freckles"

I love people with freckles. I think they are cute on a child and unique and even sexy on an adult.

Here is what Wikipedia says about freckles.

Freckles are clusters of concentrated melanin which are most often visible on people with a fair complexion. A freckle is also called an ephelis. Freckles do not have an increased number of melanin producing cells (melanocytes), but instead have cells that overproduce melanin granules changing the coloration of the skin.

DREAMER"S CHALLENGE MAY 3RD, "TRAINS"

Update on my hubby:
He has been home one week today. Getting stronger each day but it is going to be a slow process to get him back to where he was before this horrific disease got his brain. He is doing great!

This week the theme for my challenge is 

"Trains"

I always try to keep my eye out for things that I can use in the challenges each week.

In driving through my small community of Coos Bay this past week the antique Train that sits on its tracks near the bay on Hy-way 101 caught my eye.

There are so many styles of trains and I do love them all. Growing up in Nampa, Idaho, Union Pacific Railroad was one of the main sources of employment. Not so much any more but then there were many who worked for Union Pacific.

Lots of trains came to mind. Circus trains, trains with endless box cars, trains carrying livestock and of course the occasional hobo. Trains that were held up by cowboys, and trains that carried passengers across country.
